WHAT IS THE RESTART RETREAT?
This 4 day, 3 night retreat aims to boost your creative energy by stepping out of the daily grind and connecting with like-minded creatives to recharge and make art together.
And what better way to RESTART than by flipping open and filling a brand-new sketchbook?
Hosted by four professional artists, this immersive experience will focus on how to begin, or “Restart”, your sketchbook practice, regain your creative spark, and shake up your current routine, if you’re feeling stuck. Through the instruction and guidance from four multi-skilled artists, we wish to empower you to create with joy and self-assurance. We intend to deliver a peaceful, collaborative, environment, filled with unique creative exercises; ensuring you leave feeling inspired and refreshed. In addition to several exciting art prompts, we'll also nurture your creative spirit through leisurely activities and excursions; including antiquing, exploring a picturesque winery, and strolling the streets of a nostalgic, charming town.

WHO IS RESTART FOR?
This retreat is for women who are fueled by art and connection. We invite and welcome anyone with the desire to experiment, create, and connect with fellow kindred spirits. ALL levels of skill are welcome, whether you are a seasoned artist, or you never quite knew how to start your creative practice. All that is required is your creative curiosity and willingness to experiment with new mediums.
WHERE IS RESTART?
The Restart retreat will be located on a historic estate in Milton, KY. Surrounded by beautiful rolling hills along the Ohio River, Richwood on the River offers a picturesque setting sure to glean inspiration. This retreat includes lodging, a communal work space, and access to the estate grounds, pool, and 2 meals per day. This gem location is truly a treasure and has inspired many others at previous retreats and gatherings.
There are two airports ~1 hour from Richwood on the River: Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

The Mountain View cabin has a queen day bed in the living room area. The separate bedroom has a king-size bed and a private full bath that also connects to the living room.

The Mountain View cabin was built in the late 1950’s and was used as the home for the Property Manger and the horse riding teacher for the Richwood Plantation Riding School for Young Women from around 1950 until 1969. Amenities include; Full kitchen, huge living/dining area, a wood-burning fireplace and satellite TV, DVD/CD and queen pull out sofa bed in living room area. You have a spacious, rear covered porch with a wonderful view of the mountains where you will likely see deer, turkey and other wildlife.

Bunkhouse Cabin 2
Bunkhouse Cabin 2 has a downstairs queen-size day bed and a private half bath. Upstairs you have a large bedroom with vaulted, cedar beamed ceilings, a king-size bed, a private full bath, and a separate, two-person hot-tub in the bedroom.

Richwood Mansion Suite & Tasha Suite
Richwood boasts a comfy king bed, cozy sitting area and gas fireplace and tv/dvd player. With windows facing the Ohio River and the beautiful grounds of Richwood it’s the owner’s choice when staying on the property. The Tasha Room is adjoined and has a queen bed. It is connected by the shared bathroom with whirlpool tub.
Richwood boasts a comfy king bed, cozy sitting area and gas fireplace and tv/dvd player. This bedroom is adjoined with the Tasha Mansion Suite.
Rosemary Mansion Room
This bedroom was a part of the original homestead built in the late 1780’s. With exposed brick walls and cozy sitting area by the gas fireplace, it’s a perfect retreat after a busy day. It included 1 king bed and 1 queen bed.

McKinley Mansion Room
This single room has windows lining the west and south walls flooding the room with natural light.

President McKinley was a good friend of the Fearn’s and is rumored to have stayed in this room when visiting. This room has windows lining the west and south walls flooding the room with natural light. With a love seat facing the gas fireplace, it has the potential to feel like you are at home and you may never want to leave. Photographers LOVE this room! Private en suite with old fashioned claw foot soaking tub, king bed and tv/dvd player.
Riverview Mansion Room
This single room is the only mansion room that has a private deck that overlooks the Ohio River. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or toast with another beverage in the evening as you enjoy the majestic views that makes Richwood so special.

Summer Cottage
This cottage was originally used as the summer kitchen for the Mansion. Guests in the Summer Cottage have the entire cottage just to themselves for more privacy! This cottage has recently been remodeled.

The Summer Cottage sleeps 2 and was also built in the very early 1800’s. This cottage was originally used as the summer kitchen for the Mansion and is a real favorite of honeymooners and people celebrating special events such as an anniversary. Guests in the Summer Cottage have the entire cottage just to themselves for more privacy! This cottage has recently been remodeled. Some of your luxuries in this cottage include: a kitchenette, gas-log fireplace, a two-person romantic shower, an elevated, queen-size four-poster bed with a love seat facing the fireplace, satellite TV, DVD/CD player and an incredible view out of every window! We also have a front porch where you may enjoy the views of both the property and the Ohio River.
